Detailed information on \"Columnar\" Sterling Silver and Rough Crystal Pendant

A statement piece, this sterling silver pendant with raw aquamarine and tourmaline crystals on a sterling silver chain was made as a response to the theme of \"Elemental\". and has been exhibited in QLD, Australia.

Name: \"Columnar\"Date: October 2024Materials: Tarnish resistant sterling silver, tourmaline, aquamarine, silver chain.Technique: Wax carved, lost wax cast, hand finished. Gemstones added with two part epoxy adhesive.

Didactic:\"Like the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland or the pinnacles of Cape Raoul in Tasmania, Australia, this pendant represents the rock formations known as Columnar Jointing - a result of the cooling and fracturing of flowing lava.

Standing strong against the elements, these columns were shaped over thousands of years by their environment, analogous to the weathering humans endure to evolve and reach for greater heights in their lives.\"

Exhibitions:“Elemental” JMGQ hosted member exhibition - October 25th to November 6th, 2024, Metcalfe Gallery, Brisbane Institute of Art, Windsor, QLD.

I\'ve tried my best to capture the colours and shapes of my hand crafted necklace as accurately as possible using my phone camera, however, some variation in colour may happen due to monitor/device colour calibrations.Images and concepts are copyright (C) M. Veronica Silva 2024
