A Vintage Black Hills Gold Opal Pendant with a One-of-Kind History

This vintage Black Hills gold pendant carries a history all its own. A classic 1980s design, it showcases the signature grapevine motif, crafted with 12k rose and green gold leaves on a solid 10k gold framework. At some point in its journey, it was uniquely customized with a dangling Australian semi-crystal opal, introducing a one-of-a-kind element to the traditionally uniform Black Hills style.

The opal plays with rolling flashes of green, red, and orange, accented by yellow and blue overtones. It is set in a vintage 14k gold bezel, with the back of the setting stamped “14K”. The main pendant itself bears the markings “Black Hills Gold J Co” and “10K 12K”, signifying its origin and composition.
