Real Cicada necklace. A Dog-Day Cicada (Neotibicen canicularis) has been meticulously preserved with patience and skill, over the course of months. Pink toned ruby, emerald triangle and with opal tear drop are held within this cicada\'s pairs of arms. Wear it in the reverse, without the gems showing, for a more understated statement piece. The 18K gold on steel paperclip chain brings this necklace to 18\" standard length, with a 2\" extension allowing up to 20\". Can be hooked smaller. A versatile body inclusive necklace design.

A rare storied specimen, brought to us by one of the performers at Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Found near fairy wing forest, after it had lived its full life. A show stopping necklace that embodies beauty, patience and taking up space, with timeless style. 

The wings have been preserved through an intricate process leaving them waterproof and similar in wear and care to eyeglass lenses, while retaining the delicate edges through meticulous artist skill.

All wings are ethically sourced, most from and for conservation.
