Detailed information on Sterling Silver Modern Hieroglyphics Cuff with Turquoise

Description

Degs & Sal jewelry is handmade of recycled sterling silver in Italy. Each piece is delicately created by the hands of local artisans. The Sterling Silver Modern Hieroglyphics Cuff with Turquoise is handcrafted from 925 sterling silver and imprinted with a delicate Turquoise bead highlight in the center. The cuff bracelet is open and its size can be adjusted to wrap around your wrist. Our signature triangular brand design language is featured throughout the bracelet, including the stamped logo as well as on each end of the bracelet.

Story

Many know the cuff bracelet as a modern statement piece, but it actually has a rich history dating back thousands of years. In Ancient Mayan culture, royalty wore cuff bracelets because it was an indicator of their high social class. In Ancient Egypt, cuff bracelets were decorated in stones and worn for decorative purposes. Ancient Greeks wore metals  cuffs for fashion purposes as well as in combat for protection. Today, the cuff bracelets are still known as a bold, durable fashion piece worn by many.
