The supporting structure of the Bellini 413 Cab armchair is an enameled steel frame. To upholster, sixteen pieces of saddle leather are individually die cut undergoing an additional fourteen discreet procedures by hand. The pieces are sewn together after their outer edges have been trimmed to ensure a perfect fit. Once assembled, the cover is attached to the chair’s steel frame and held in place by a zipper fastening, as in a bespoke tailored garment. Today this model adapts and expands to meet contemporary needs.
