Detailed information on El Refugio Gesha

Owned by the Agudelo Uribe family since August of 2020, El Refugio has 7.5 hectares of coffee, including more quality-oriented varieties such as Gesha, Sidra, and Bourbon. Prior to the Uribe family\'s endeavors, the land was used for livestock -- this means that the coffee trees here are relatively new. In tandem with planting coffee, the family has planted native trees for shading and to support soil and eco-system health. This Gesha lot has tremendous complexity with hints of tangerine, mango and dark chocolate. It does benefit from some time to rest after roasting. I would recommend waiting 10+ days after roasting and I would suspect it might even open up more as it rests longer.

Harvested in Spring 2025. 1,750-2,050 MASL. Mixed varieties. Washed.
