this geisha king arthur coffee comes from a special colombian microlot where it undergoes aerobic & anaerobic fermentation processes followed by a delicate honey style drying process. don elkin arcila begins picking the cherries in order to guarantee an optimal sugar level. afterwards a 90 hour cherry fermentation, depulping, and 90 hour fermentation in mucilage process takes place. in 2017, elkin founded a barista school in támesis, nurturing 15 to 20 students annually, creating a new generation of coffee enthusiasts.
elkin’s entrepreneurial spirit & social sustainability focus earn him recognition in the coffee-growing community. on the puerto arturo farm, he achieves remarkable results with the geisha king arthur coffee, scoring between 89 and 90 points.
after the controlled fermentation, the coffee is dried in african beds in honey achieving a marvelously floral and sweet cupping profile coffee with notes of tangerine, peaches, and honeysuckle.
